"If I See BORAT, I Will Kill Him With My Own Hands"

The news article above is what prompted me to write my "thought of the day" which is posted below. Yes, I feel that the Sasha Barron Cohen Production company certainly owes everyone unintentionally involved in this top box office money making motion picture a portion of the profits. The most deserving people of all to be compensated very generously should be the impovershed Gypsy villagers in Glod, Romania.
On the otherhand, I found the BORAT movie incredibly funny. Yes, without a doubt, this film is extremely boorish and in atrociously bad taste. Truth be told, it is exactly that supreme audacity that makes it so compelling.
I also have a warm affection for the character Borat himself, whose accent, naivette, and very "foreign" mannerisms remind me so much of my dear departed Czechoslovak Jewish grandmother. Even the "Djekui," term that Borat uses is Slovak for "Thank you." There is just way too much nostalgia there for me to dislike Cohen's character. It is much too close to "home" for me.

However, since Cohen's Production Company does appear to have taken serious advantage of many unsuspecting "victims," there does seem to be alot of "wrongs" that must be made "right" before Cohen himself will regain any degree or semblance of integrity. We have already regained with a vengeance the reputation as the "Ugly American." We are the most heavily dispised nation in the world, thanks in large part to the vile Bush Administration and the illegal war in Iraq.
I have special sympathy for the pathetically disadvantaged villagers of Glod,Romania. These people need help. Alot of help! Since they, as well as their little village, is such a large chunk of this enormously huge money making film, they have every right to share in the prosperity that it is bringing to the Cohen Production Company, "Prosm?"
"Djekui."
