GOOGLE WORKPLACE CULTURE KICKS THE "CULT OF MEAN" TO THE CURB.
So many that are employed by large corporations, find themselves increasingly being disrespected, devalued, and oppressed. It is refreshing and inspiring to see companies in existence such as GOOGLE (Watch the video, and hear it direct from the mouths of employees themselves).
GOOGLE is successful, and there is a reason. This is a very simple concept that anyone with half a brain will be able to grasp. GOOGLE employees are performing to their best abilities, because this company is intelligent enough to know that placing value upon their employees results in everyone sincerely caring about the company they work for. Show kindness, praise where it is due. A flexible schedule that recognizes everyone has an outside life. and even permitting room for employee pets or children at the work place allows employees to thrive in their work. Under these circumstances, people will strive to do their best for a company that treats them so well.
I cannot imagine why so many current CEO's and "Upper Management"of large corporations think that by creating an atmosphere of fear, threats, condemnation and abuse will take their company to the top. If the morale isn't there, the dedication, passion and top performance won't be either. The employees will simply disengage themselves emotionally and stop caring about the quality of their work and the effect it could have upon the big picture for that company. They resent the company, and may even sabotage any effort for success of that employer.
It's as though the simplest basic knowledge of human behavior was either never learned, or accepted by this "New School of Management." GOOGLE can lead the way by their example of how to get the most and the best from employees to obtain the most desirable bottom line results. Yes, and I'm talking dollars and cents here, as well as accolades. The culture of fear, threats, and ego meltdowns are not the way to motivate people. Why are there so many CEO'S that subscribe to the "ASSHOLE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT? Perhaps they are attempting to emulate the Nazi dictatorship style of the Bush administration. Whatever the case, they are a hateful, venomous life form that derives great pleasure inflicting pain, and insecurity on lower level employees. It's obvious that these are pathetic, miserable individuals that have no power in their real life, so they feel they can obtain some semblance of control as "The Big Boss-man" by sticking it to the underlings because they feel they CAN. A day at work for lower level employees should not feel like a prison sentence. For all too many of todays working poor, it appears to be just that.
The last laugh will ultimately be on these oppressive employers.. Companies that incorporate criticism, threats, and never ending negativity will surely self-destruct. Long Live GOOGLE and the way the wonderful culture and environment they have created for their workforce. I have a feeling GOOGLE will be around long after many others have crashed and burned.
